Config Folder - FAQ - FTP Synchronizer

Overview

FTP Synchronizer stores all your profile configurations and settings in a dedicated configuration folder. Understanding where and how these files are stored helps you backup, transfer, and manage your synchronization profiles.

Default Location

By default, FTP Synchronizer stores configuration files in:

C:\Users\[YourUsername]\AppData\Roaming\FTPSynchronizer\

Replace [YourUsername] with your Windows user account name.

Config File Types

  • Profile files: *.pro - Contains your synchronization profiles
  • Settings files: settings.ini - Global application settings
  • Log files: *.log - Synchronization history logs
  • Schedule files: *.schedule - Scheduled task configurations

Back up regularly, especially before major updates or system changes.

To restore your configurations:

  1. Close FTP Synchronizer
  2. Copy your backup files to the configuration folder
  3. Restart FTP Synchronizer
  4. Your profiles will appear in the profile list

Transferring to Another Computer

To move your profiles to a new computer:

  2. Install FTP Synchronizer on the new computer
  3. Copy the configuration folder to the same location on the new computer
  4. Launch FTP Synchronizer and verify your profiles

Common Issues

Profiles missing after update

If profiles disappear after an update, check if the config folder path changed. Look for your old profiles in the previous location and move them to the new folder.

Cannot find config folder

Use Windows File Explorer's search function to search for *.pro files. This will help locate the configuration folder.
