Overview
FTP Synchronizer stores all your profile configurations and settings in a dedicated configuration folder. Understanding where and how these files are stored helps you backup, transfer, and manage your synchronization profiles.
Default Location
By default, FTP Synchronizer stores configuration files in:
C:\Users\[YourUsername]\AppData\Roaming\FTPSynchronizer\
Replace [YourUsername] with your Windows user account name.
Config File Types
- Profile files:
*.pro- Contains your synchronization profiles - Settings files:
settings.ini- Global application settings - Log files:
*.log- Synchronization history logs - Schedule files:
*.schedule- Scheduled task configurations
Backing Up Configuration
To backup your FTP Synchronizer configurations:
- Navigate to the configuration folder
- Copy all files to a backup location
- For automated backups, create a scheduled task to copy this folder
Back up regularly, especially before major updates or system changes.
Restoring Configuration
To restore your configurations:
- Close FTP Synchronizer
- Copy your backup files to the configuration folder
- Restart FTP Synchronizer
- Your profiles will appear in the profile list
Transferring to Another Computer
To move your profiles to a new computer:
- Copy the entire configuration folder from the old computer
- Install FTP Synchronizer on the new computer
- Copy the configuration folder to the same location on the new computer
- Launch FTP Synchronizer and verify your profiles
Common Issues
Profiles missing after update
If profiles disappear after an update, check if the config folder path changed. Look for your old profiles in the previous location and move them to the new folder.
Cannot find config folder
Use Windows File Explorer's search function to search for *.pro files. This will help locate the configuration folder.
